The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) is taking steps to broker peace with other healthcare professionals in the sector, according to the association’s president Dr. Francis Faduyile.
Faduyile revealed the association was in talks with other sister associations in the healthcare sector to stem the frequent disharmony in the sector.
“We are currently engaging with our friends in the health team particularly the nurses and pharmacists and hopefully we know that this approach will reduce the disharmony that has characterised the health sector in recent time,” he said.
If NMA is able to convince nurses and pharmacists to join its cause, the move could threaten the impact of the industrial actions embarked upon by JOHESU which is a coalition of health care professionals
NMA President disclosed this while speaking at the national executive council of the NMA held in Uyo, with the theme Strengthening healthcare delivery in Nigeria: Addressing legal and ethical issues in health care management”.
