Nigerian professor of biochemistry, Andrew Jonathan Nok, dies at 55.
Nok is a Nigerian Professor of Biochemistry and Public affairs secretary of the Nigerian Academy of Science. In 2010 he was a recipient of the Nigerian National Order of Merit Award (NNOM), in the Science category. He died on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
Until his death, he was the commissioner for education in Kaduna state where the government is attempting to replace teachers that failed a competence test.
Aged 55, Nok was nominated as commissioner of Health and Human services by the executive governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai on 29 July 2015, along with other 12 nominees.
While circumstances surrounding his death are still sketchy, HealthNews.NG gathered he died after a brief illness.
